The oak has been treated with a matt, water-resistant varnish that maintains the wood’s natural grain while offering some protection against moisture in kitchens or bathrooms. However, the stool should not be placed in standing water or used as a permanent shower seat. The load capacity is 150 kilograms, though users are advised to step on the centre of the platform for optimum stability. Four non-slip pads are attached to the underside; these pads are replaceable when they show signs of flattening. The stool’s weight (approximately 3.2 kilograms) provides a low centre of gravity, reducing the chance of tipping. For cleaning, use a dry or slightly damp cloth, then wipe away any residual dampness. Avoid abrasive scouring pads or citrus-based cleaners, as they may damage the varnish. This product is delivered fully assembled and ready for immediate use. The solid oak construction means that small cracks or mineral stains inherent to the wood are not considered faults – these features add character. The stool is well suited for reaching upper kitchen shelves, accessing tall bathroom cabinets, or assisting children at a high sink. Because the stool is not foldable, it occupies a permanent footprint; consider storing it under a console or inside a pantry when not required. For bathroom installations, ensure the floor is dry before stepping onto the stool, as water on the floor may create slip hazards independent of the stool’s performance. The oak will darken slightly over time when exposed to light, which is a normal property of the wood. No ongoing maintenance beyond occasional reapplication of a suitable wood wax is needed.
